According to CNN Money, the FDA has approved a generic version of the herpes drug famciclovir/Famvir. Unfortunately for those hoping for a bit of price relief, it may still be a bit of time before this drug hits the market. Novartis, the company that manufacturers Famvir, sued the new manufacturer for patent infringement in 2005 and the case has yet to be concluded.
