Why Using Colored Condoms Can Make Safe Sex Fun

Colored condoms can be a fun addition to your sex life. I like to say that they add some fashion to your passion. Maybe you've always wondered what your partner looks like in red. Maybe you think that fellatio is more fun in fuchsia. Visual stimulation can be an important part of the sexual experience. Colored condoms can be an interesting way to spice things up.

Price

You can buy a basic supply of colorful condoms for no more than you'd pay for any other latex condom. Some of the more intricate color variations, however, may come at a more premium price. Just make sure you're buying real condoms, not novelty products. The condom package should state that it's rated for safe sex.

Ease of Acquisition

Many drug stores will have colored condoms for sale. More interesting variations can be found online. Some online condom stores will even sell you a colorful assortment so that you have a lot of different condoms to play with.

Use During Vaginal Intercourse

Colored condoms are suitable for use anywhere a normal latex condom would be appropriate. Just make certain that they're not being manufactured as a novelty product. The box should say that they've been approved to protect against pregnancy and STDs

Use During Oral Sex

Colored condoms can be a fun accessory for making oral sex safer. You can match them to your man's tie. You can also pick your flavored lubricant to match the condom. Strawberry lubricant with red condoms. Banana lubricant with yellow condoms. The options are endless.

Use During Anal Sex

Haul out some of your good water or silicone based lubricant. There is no reason not to use a colored latex condom for anal sex. But colorful condoms are no substitute for good lubricant, even if they're pretty and make people relax.

The Verdict

Colored condoms can be a fun way to spice up your sex life. Colorful latex condoms come in solid colors and patterns. They also come in both lubricated and unlubricated designs. They provide a nice pop of visible stimulus to oral sex and generally just add some variety to your safer sex kit. One thing to be careful of. You need to make certain that any colored condoms you buy are designed to be used for safe sex and not just as novelty items. If they are being sold strictly as a novelty, there should be a statement on the box to that effect. It's important to be very certain you're not buying a gag gift that will really make you gag.

If colors aren't your thing, there are other options for adding some visual excitement to your safer sex kit. At least one condom company makes a condom in basic black. There are also glow in the dark condoms and condoms with various bumps and textures. In addition, there's always the option of fun bags and cases to keep your condoms in. You can have one to match your every mood. Just remember to keep track of the expiration date. You don't want your fun condoms to expire before you have a chance to use them.

Oh, and if you have sensitive skin, pay attention to your body's reactions. Colored and flavored condoms have additives that you could be sensitive to, even if you're fine with latex condoms in general. If you do have a problem with a particular condom brand, try another or go back to plain ones. After all, it's far more important that condoms feel good and keep you safe than that they're pretty.
