Non-Specific Symptoms - What Disease Do I Have?

Definition: Non-specific symptoms are symptoms that are not associated with a particular STD. The symptoms of many STDs are non-specific, which is why it's so important that individuals get tested by a healthcare provider when they are seeking a diagnosis. Even though many STDs look alike, their treatment is not the same, and therefore, an accurate assessment of what is causing any particular symptom is essential.
Examples:
Body aches are a non-specific symptom that can be the result of many different diseases as well as non-infectious causes, such as exercise.
