Question: What Are The Symptoms of Chancroid?
Answer:
  • One or more bumps that become ulcers within 1-2 days of their appearance.
    • ulcers range in size – up to 2 inches across
    • ulcers are painful
    • ulcers may have well defined borders or irregular borders
    • the base of the ulcer is covered in yellow or grey material
    • the base of the ulcer bleeds easily if scraped
    • multiple ulcers are more common in women
  • When ulcers occur inside the vagina:
    • pain and bleeding on intercourse
    • pain on urination
  • Swollen lymph nodes in the area between the leg and stomach.
    • these may rupture and become abscesses
