These changes can range from self-resolving mild to moderate cervical dysplasia all the way to the early stages of cervical cancer.

Cervical dysplasia refers to changes in the cervix which may or may not be pre-cancerous. These changes are usually associated with infection with high-risk genotypes of HPV.
